The Cherry-Backed Education Credit Facility (CBECF) is an innovative socio-economic model developed by the Kenya Coffee School in partnership with community organizations.
It addresses a major challenge for local coffee farmers by allowing them to leverage their coffee harvest (specifically the cherry production) as a form of financial collateral or direct savings. Through this setup, the income generated from their coffee deliveries is automatically channeled to cover school fees and professional training for their children or sponsored youth pursuing careers in the coffee industry.
